The Port Men in Sheds has the unique ability to link local businesses and fundraisers with the Ellesmere Port community. We have the ability to connect the needs of society with the funding that is often available in local businesses and with our experience and workshop facilities we can manage projects from concept to completion.
Community projects already completed include building bird boxes for the British Heart Foundation, designing and building two 12-foot planters for the Mayfield Care Home in Ellesmere Port and the removal of pews from Trinity Church which were then converted into tables for the church cafe. Funded by the Chester Rotary Club, raised flower planters were made to help stroke victims at the Countess of Chester Hospital.
This also gives the men who attend the Shed a feeling of self-esteem that they, in later life, are still useful and for businesses it demonstrates that supporting such projects should be seen as an opportunity rather than a burden. With our skills and your resources we can make a difference.
